Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that Israeli warplanes launched two strikes on Toulouseh and its surroundings, targeted the outskirts of Aita al-Jabal, and carried out two strikes between Hadatha and Haris, although the missiles did not explode.

The two wars between Hezbollah and Israel, which began in March this year and in October 2023, have caused widespread destruction, particularly in southern Lebanon and Beirut’s southern suburbs.

Lebanese authorities estimate that more than 290,000 housing units have been destroyed or damaged, according to preliminary figures.

Violence in southern Lebanon has declined since June, following a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, and a US-mediated framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel. The agreement included the disarmament of Hezbollah and the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from areas occupied during the latest war in southern Lebanon.

Hundreds of thousands of Lebanese remain displaced from the south. Israeli forces continue to occupy an area extending up to 10 kilometres from the border, carrying out demolitions and land-clearing operations while preventing residents from returning to their homes.
