The Anti-Narcotics Department dealt with eight major cases in recent days as part of its ongoing efforts to investigate drug smuggling, trafficking and promotion across the Kingdom, arresting 26 drug smugglers, dealers and promoters and seizing large quantities of drugs and firearms.

The Public Security Directorate spokesperson said the most prominent cases occurred in the Southern Region, where authorities followed up on information concerning two individuals linked to regional drug-smuggling gangs. Investigations, conducted in cooperation with security agencies, established that the two possessed large quantities of drugs obtained through smuggling and intended to transport them from the Southern Region toward Madaba Governorate. They were raided and arrested while carrying out the operation.
Authorities seized 240 bundles of hashish and 11 kilograms of the deadly crystal methamphetamine from the two suspects.
The spokesperson added that two security campaigns were carried out in Rweished targeting wanted and suspected individuals as well as drug dealers. The operations resulted in the arrest of 11 people and the seizure of 33,000 narcotic pills and 12 firearms.
In Aqaba Governorate, a security campaign targeting drug dealers and promoters resulted in the arrest of five people and the seizure of assorted quantities of narcotics.
In Amman Governorate, authorities dealt with two cases. In the first, a crystal meth promoter was arrested after being raided, with half a kilogram of the deadly substance seized from his possession. In the second case, another promoter was raided, and four bundles of hashish and a firearm were seized during his arrest and search.
In Irbid Governorate, the spokesperson said two drug promoters were arrested with 250 grams of crystal methamphetamine in their possession.
Meanwhile, nine bundles of hashish were seized from two drug promoters in Madaba Governorate.
In the final case, two drug dealers in the Southern Badia were raided and arrested, with 6,000 narcotic pills seized from their possession.
