These remarks were made during the Minister's reception of WHO Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, at the Ministry’s headquarters on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by the WHO Representative to Jordan, Jamela Al-Raiby, and several ministry officials.

Minister Al-Badour expressed his appreciation for the continuous support provided by WHO, noting that Jordan views health as a fundamental right and a pillar of sustainable development. He emphasized that the Kingdom continues to build a resilient and inclusive health system despite regional challenges, economic pressures, and the hosting of large refugee populations.

He highlighted Jordan's significant achievements in recent years, including:

Expanding and modernizing primary healthcare services.

Strengthening infrastructure and supply chains.

Accelerating digital transformation through electronic health records (EHR), telemedicine, and evidence-based decision-making.

The Minister explained that quality of care and patient safety are top reform priorities, pointing to the launch of the National Quality and Patient Safety Strategy. Furthermore, the Ministry is advancing mental health reforms in collaboration with WHO to integrate these services into primary healthcare.

Regarding the humanitarian crisis, Al-Badour stressed that Jordan remains committed to providing healthcare to refugees, maintaining its position as one of the world's highest refugee-hosting countries relative to its population.
