Former intelligence director, Mohammed Al-Dhahabi, released

AMMAN – On Sunday, former General Intelligence Directorate (GID), Mohammed Al-Dhahabi was released after serving his sentence, which began in 2012, according to Khaberni. اضافة اعلان

In 2012, he was convicted of three charges including money laundering, abuse of office, and embezzlement.

The Amman Criminal Court sentenced the former intelligence director, retired General Mohammed Al-Dhahabi, to 13 years and 3 months of temporary hard labor, in addition to one year in prison, counting the period of detention. He was also fined over 21 million dinars and more than 24 million dinars worth of his assets were confiscated. 

Al-Dhahabi served as the Director of General Intelligence from late 2005 until December 2008.
