Momeni Condemns Continued Israeli Settler Attacks on Jordanian Aid Trucks Bound for Gaza
Minister of Government Communications and official spokesperson Dr. Mohammad Al-Momeni on Monday condemned the ongoing attacks by Israeli settlers on Jordanian trucks carrying humanitarian aid to families in the Gaza Strip.اضافة اعلان

In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the minister said that on Sunday evening, a group of settlers attempted to obstruct an aid convoy of 59 trucks, which nevertheless managed to cross into Gaza later.

He explained that four trucks were attacked and pelted with stones, resulting in shattered windshields, punctured tires, and damage to some of their front and side parts.

Momeni held the Israeli authorities responsible for failing to curb such actions, stressing that there has been leniency in controlling these incidents, which endanger the safety of drivers, hinder relief operations, and constitute a violation of international conventions and agreements.

The minister concluded by noting that the efforts of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization to deliver aid to Gaza continue to face deliberate obstacles, including requirements for electronic applications to transport aid, limited inspection hours during working times at border crossings, and the imposition of newly introduced customs fees. These measures, he said, have extended the delivery time of aid shipments from just two hours to nearly 36 hours. – (Petra)
