UN: Children in Gaza Denied Education for Third Consecutive Year

According to the official UN website, spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric stated that the new school year is approaching and “children in Gaza will be denied the opportunity to receive an education for the third year in a row. Education is a fundamental right, and no child should be deprived of it.” He called for “protecting the right of children in Gaza to access education.”

The UN spokesperson emphasized the urgent need to reopen schools and ensure that Palestinian children can exercise their right to education, noting that this crisis “threatens the future of an entire generation in Gaza.”
