AMMAN — The head of the
Independent Electoral Commission,
Musa Al-Maaytah, said that the real test for political parties and their
efficacy will be in the upcoming parliamentary elections, where parties must
play a significant role in
educating citizens and encouraging effective
political party participation in elections based on party programs and goals.

In his statements to the press, he added that the important
role played by these parties comes in light of the outcomes of the
Royal Committee for Updating the Political System and the changes that have occurred
in election and party laws, Khaberni News reported.
Commission’s preparations
Maaytah spoke about the preparations of the Commission for
the upcoming parliamentary elections, including preparing the voter registry
and completing the field survey process, evaluating polling stations, and the
counting process.
He pointed out that the Commission has prepared a draft of
the executive regulations for the upcoming parliamentary elections, which will
be officially discussed with the relevant partners before its issuance.
