At the outset of the expanded talks, His Majesty thanked President Tokayev for the warm reception, stressing Jordan’s keenness and commitment to bolstering cooperation between the two countries.

The King highlighted that the signing of new agreements and memoranda of understanding provides a solid foundation for expanding partnerships in sectors such as trade, energy, healthcare, culture, industry, agriculture, food products, and other key areas.

He emphasized that the Jordanian-Kazakh Business Forum, also taking place today, is an additional step towards enhancing economic cooperation and deepening partnerships between private sector institutions in both countries.

The talks, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, His Majesty’s Chief Adviser for Religious and Cultural Affairs and Personal Envoy, also covered regional developments. The King stressed the need to de-escalate tensions and restore security and stability in the Middle East.

Praising Kazakhstan’s constructive role in promoting peace and stability, His Majesty said: “We are committed to working alongside you to address regional and international challenges, and to contribute to global peace efforts,” while commending President Tokayev’s leadership in advancing his country’s role on both the regional and international levels.

For his part, President Tokayev praised His Majesty’s wise leadership, vision, and distinguished role in advancing peace and security regionally and globally. Addressing the King, he said: “Under your leadership, Jordan is a pillar of stability and moderation in the Middle East, and your country’s voice carries special weight on the international stage. We in Kazakhstan consider Your Majesty a great political figure, held in genuine respect across the world.”

The Kazakh president noted that relations between Kazakhstan and Jordan are currently at one of their most dynamic and fruitful stages in the past 30 years, underscoring Kazakhstan’s strong commitment to further strengthening its partnership with Jordan, which he described as “our close partner in the Arab world.”

He also stressed that, in addition to shared political and economic interests, the two countries enjoy deep cultural and humanitarian ties, rooted in history, religion, tolerance, and mutual respect. President Tokayev added that the King’s visit would further strengthen bilateral relations and pave the way for elevating partnerships to new levels, noting that one direct outcome of the visit was the signing of more than 15 cooperation agreements between institutions and companies in both countries across various economic fields.

The talks also addressed developments in Gaza and the West Bank, with His Majesty reaffirming the need to end the war on Gaza and intensify international efforts to respond to the humanitarian catastrophe.

The King warned of the dangers of escalation in the West Bank, as well as assaults on Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, reiterating Jordan’s rejection of any attempts to occupy or annex land in Gaza or the West Bank, or to forcibly displace Palestinians.

The talks were attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, Director of the King’s Office Eng. Ala Batayneh, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yarub Qudah, Chairman of the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission Dr. Khaled Toukan, and Jordan’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan Hamzah Al-Omari.

His Majesty and President Tokayev witnessed the exchange of three cooperation agreements and three memoranda of understanding between their governments in the fields of maritime transport, healthcare, standards and metrology, nuclear energy and uranium mining, entrepreneurship, and archiving.

The King also bestowed upon President Tokayev the Order of Al Nahda (First Class with Brilliants), in recognition of his efforts and in appreciation of the distinguished relations between the two countries and their peoples.

Upon His Majesty’s arrival at the Akorda Presidential Palace in Astana, official welcoming ceremonies were held.
