Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi arrived in Syria on Wednesday for talks with President Ahmed al-Sharaa and Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani.

The discussions are to cover bilateral relations, regional developments and issues of shared concern, according to the Foreign Ministry.
Sharaa has led Syria since January 2025, following the fall of the Assad government the previous month. Shaibani has held the foreign affairs portfolio since December 2024.
