House Speaker Mazen Qadi said Jordan rejects any attempt to turn its territory or airspace into an arena for regional conflict, and backed the armed forces and security services in confronting threats to the Kingdom.اضافة اعلان

In a statement issued by the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Qadi described the Iranian missile attack on Jordan as unjustifiable on any grounds, and said strikes on Jordanian territory and airspace can only be treated as an attack on the country.

The security of Jordan and the Gulf states is indivisible, Qadi said. An attack on any Arab state amounts to an attack on the wider Arab security order, and Jordan stands with the Gulf states against attempts to undermine their sovereignty.

Qadi praised the readiness of the air defence system and the personnel who operated it. The armed forces have consistently proved capable of protecting the country's skies, land and people, he said.

The House affirmed its support for King Abdullah II, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, in preventing violations of Jordanian airspace. Qadi described sovereignty and national security as a red line, said the safety of Jordanians would not be traded against regional calculations, and identified domestic cohesion as the Kingdom's strongest asset.

Dialogue and political solutions remain the only route to sparing the region further escalation, Qadi added, warning that attacks on Jordan and the Gulf states threaten Arab national security and risk widening the conflict.
