King and Queen attend state funeral of King Harald V in Oslo

King Abdullah II and Queen Rania attended the state funeral of Norway's King Harald V in Oslo on Wednesday.

The King left Jordan on Tuesday for the ceremony, accompanied by the Queen. Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II was sworn in as Regent before the Cabinet to deputise during his absence.اضافة اعلان

Harald died on August 28 at Rikshospitalet in Oslo at the age of 89, after 35 years on the throne. His son succeeded him as King Haakon VIII and took the oath before the Storting on September 1.

The service was held at Oslo Cathedral, preceded by a procession from the Royal Palace and followed by burial in the royal mausoleum at Akershus Fortress. Foreign royals and heads of state joined the procession, and Norway observed a nationwide minute of silence as the service began.
