Several people were injured on Wednesday in an explosion of unknown origin near the town of Sarmada in the northern Idlib countryside, Syrian state media reported.

The Syrian News Channel said the explosion occurred near Sarmada, with authorities working to determine its exact nature.
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that the blast took place in the Burj al-Namrah area near Sarmada, inside a weapons warehouse.
Waleed Aslan, head of operations at the Idlib Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate, told SANA that emergency teams were dispatched to the site immediately after the explosion.
He said preliminary information indicated that the blast was caused by munitions.
