Israeli forces withdrew from the town of Anata and Shuafat refugee camp northeast of occupied Jerusalem on Wednesday after an approximately 24-hour military raid, according to Al Mamlaka’s correspondent.
The forces had imposed a tight siege on the town and camp since early Tuesday, deploying heavily, closing roads and entrances, restricting residents’ movement, and carrying out raids and arrests.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the curfew and movement restrictions disrupted schools and kindergartens and forced shops to close, severely affecting daily life in the area.
The Jerusalem Governorate said Israeli forces carried out a large-scale arrest campaign, while Palestinian sources estimated that about 100 Palestinians, including a woman, had been detained or arrested since the operation began.
Israeli forces also raided dozens of homes, subjected residents to searches and field interrogations, entered shops and private facilities, damaged some of them, and seized several Palestinian vehicles.
