Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with the spiritual leader of the Druze community in Israel, Sheikh Muwafaq Tarif.
According to reports, the meeting took place in the village of Julis in the Galilee region, within a special Druze operations room established to monitor the situation in Sweida.

The meeting comes amid reports of a potential security agreement between Israel and Syria in the coming weeks.
In a related development, Yossi Dagan, head of the Settlement Council in northern West Bank, visited the Druze Civil Command Center at Sheikh Tarif’s invitation.
Dagan urged the Israeli government to “take an official decision to provide aid to the Druze community in Sweida,” emphasizing the need to organize humanitarian assistance such as food and medicine through the National Emergency Authority or a similar agency.
He said, “The shocking scenes from Sweida resemble what we saw on October 7. The State of Israel must make an official government decision, assume responsibility, and transfer the matter to the National Emergency Authority—or a similar body, as is done in the north and south—to provide regular humanitarian aid to our brethren. Their blood is our blood. Israel also bears responsibility for any anti-Semitic acts globally; it must take responsibility in confronting the mass atrocities committed against the Druze.”
Sheikh Tarif described Dagan as “a dear brother and friend” and praised his support for the Druze community.
He added, “Our brothers in Syria are dying of hunger and lack electricity, water, food, and medicine. We are making every effort to deliver aid and appeal to the international community to provide a humanitarian corridor. As 300 trucks enter Gaza daily, we need a small portion of that aid to reach our brothers in Syria.”
