Israel’s public broadcaster released a video on Monday evening that it claimed shows Yahya Sinwar, the former head of Hamas’s political bureau, just days before he was assassinated in Gaza.

According to the broadcaster, the footage was obtained from the body camera of an Israeli soldier in Gaza following Sinwar’s killing. It reportedly shows him in the final days of his life walking among the ruins of destroyed homes in the city of Rafah, in southern Gaza.
The short clips depict Sinwar wearing a black cloak covering his head and moving cautiously inside one of the damaged houses, accompanied by a Hamas fighter.
A video circulated online by journalist Linda Mamoun also claimed to show Sinwar “wrapped in a blanket and walking with a cane” during his final days.
The Israeli army had earlier released other footage showing the discovery of Sinwar’s body, after he was killed in an armed clash with Israeli forces in the Tel al-Sultan neighborhood of Rafah on October 16, 2024, along with two of his companions. — (Agencies)
