Israeli Occupation Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a joint statement on Monday directing the Israeli military to attack targets in the Southern Suburb of Beirut (Dahiyeh), amid ongoing escalation and the deepening of ground operations in southern Lebanon.

Both sides stated that this directive came following what they described as "repeated violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon by Hezbollah and attacks that targeted several cities."
The Israeli Defense Minister stated that Beirut will not know calm unless Hezbollah stops its attacks.
Clashes have continued between the Israeli occupation forces and Hezbollah since a ceasefire was reached in mid-April.
The fighting in Lebanon is the largest fallout from the war in Iran. It has displaced more than 1.2 million Lebanese citizens due to Israeli airstrikes and evacuation orders since March 2, when Hezbollah began firing rockets and drones toward Israel in support of its ally, Iran.
The Lebanese government states that the Israeli incursion has resulted in the martyrdom of more than 3,370 people. Israel states that 24 soldiers and four civilians have been killed during the same period. Tens of thousands of Israelis living in the north have also been displaced by Hezbollah's rockets and drones.
