New electricity tariff to take effect in April

AMMAN –– The Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) on Tuesday said that the new electricity tariff will start being levied as of April this year, in line with a Cabinet decision announced in August last year.اضافة اعلان

The commission said that the current tariff, which was being charged for years, will be valid until the new one takes effect, and thus any undue rise in the electricity bill should only be attributed to the increased consumption during the cold weather conditions.

The EMRC assured that it is monitoring electricity distribution companies meter reading, to ensure they follow the commission’s instructions. according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
