Abu Ali: 100 Million Invoices Issued Through the E-Invoicing System Since Last April
Director General of the Income and Sales Tax Department, Dr. Hussam Abu Ali, called on companies, establishments, professionals, and individuals registered with the National Electronic Invoicing System to ensure strict compliance with issuing invoices electronically and directly through the system. He stressed that when connected to the e-invoicing platform, invoices must be issued directly from it, with a clear prohibition on using any other program or system that may generate or transfer invoices.اضافة اعلان

Abu Ali highlighted that paragraph (W) of Article (23) of the Income Tax Law No. 34 of 2014 and its amendments stipulates: “A person is obliged to issue a proper invoice through the National Electronic Invoicing Program or a program linked to it.”

He further explained that the National E-Invoicing System continues to achieve significant progress in terms of compliance and expansion, with around 140,000 establishments across various sectors now registered. This, he said, reflects the voluntary commitment of taxpayers, including traders, industrialists, professionals, service providers, artisans, and individuals.

According to Abu Ali, a total of 18 million invoices were issued through the system during 2024, while from the beginning of 2025 until now, about 109 million invoices have been issued—around 100 million of them since the start of last April alone.

He added that the number of invoices issued through the system continues to grow steadily, reaching as many as 1.2 million invoices per day.
