Gold prices rose to a two-week high on Tuesday, as the U.S. dollar weakened following President Donald Trump’s announcement of the dismissal of Federal Reserve Board member Lisa Cook.اضافة اعلان

According to Bloomberg News, spot gold prices increased by 0.5 percent to $3,384.34 per ounce, the highest level since August 11. U.S. gold futures for September delivery also rose 0.4 percent to $3,432.40.

Among other precious metals, spot silver gained 0.4 percent to $38.72 per ounce, platinum climbed 0.7 percent to $1,352, and palladium rose 1 percent to $1,096.75.

The dollar gave up its early gains in Asian trading on Tuesday, with the U.S. dollar index falling 0.3 percent to 98.187, after recording on Monday its biggest daily gain in four weeks.
