The decision follows the committee’s assessment of economic, monetary and financial developments at the domestic, regional and international levels. It is also consistent with the Central Bank’s objective of maintaining monetary stability and enhancing the attractiveness of the Jordanian dinar and assets denominated in the currency.
On monetary and economic indicators, the Central Bank’s foreign reserves stood at approximately $28.5 billion at the end of September 2026, enough to cover the Kingdom’s imports of goods and services for more than nine months. Inflation remained moderate and stable, averaging 2.26% during the first nine months of 2026, while the banking sector continued to demonstrate resilience and its ability to support economic activity.
Real GDP grew by 3.0% in the second quarter of 2026, exceeding expectations. This was accompanied by positive developments in key external-sector indicators. Tourism income increased by 4.9% during the first three quarters of the year to around $6.4 billion, while remittances from Jordanians working abroad rose by 14.5% during the first eight months to approximately $3.4 billion. Total exports also increased by 11.2% over the same period, reaching around $10.5 billion.
These developments reflect the resilience of the national economy and its ability to continue along a path of sustainable growth, supported by stable monetary and financial conditions and positive external-sector performance.
The Central Bank of Jordan reaffirmed that it will continue monitoring domestic and international economic, monetary and financial developments and will take the necessary measures in response to these developments to maintain monetary and financial stability and contribute to strengthening the resilience of the national economy.
