Workshop explores ways to boost Jordanian vocational training sector's excellence

AMMAN— The Technical and Vocational Skills Development Commission (TVSDC) on Thursday held a workshop on building work excellence standards for Jordan's vocational and technical training and education sector, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.اضافة اعلان

The event is held in cooperation with the project: "Labour Market Oriented Vocational Education, Higher Education and Training – MOVE-HET", implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German government.

In her opening remarks, TVSDC head, Raghda Faouri, said, in the presence of training stakeholders from the private and public sectors, that the commission was established to serve Jordan's vocational and technical education and training sector.

As a major priority, she noted drafting a sector-related strategy aims to develop a roadmap and support all stakeholders to achieve a "strong" partnership between the public and private sectors and develop National Qualifications Framework.

Establishment of sectorial skills councils came to strengthen partnership with the private sector to meet labor market's requirements and reduce unemployment rates among youth and alumni, she said.

The workshop aims to build beneficiaries' capacities and establish a monitoring and assessment system over Jordan's vocational and technical training sector and enhance its performance, according to a TVSDC statement.
