Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi held extensive talks with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil on ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries across several vital sectors, including energy, oil and gas, tourism, culture, trade, and investment, in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both nations.

Safadi arrived Friday in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, on a working visit during which he also met with Acting President Delcy Rodríguez.
The two ministers also discussed a number of regional and international issues of common concern, stressing the importance of consolidating efforts to promote regional and international security and stability.
Safadi and Gil agreed to develop a clear roadmap outlining available and promising economic sectors for cooperation and the mechanisms to advance them, in addition to accelerating the signing of necessary bilateral agreements to further strengthen ties in various fields.
They also agreed to sign a memorandum establishing political consultations between the two countries, institutionalizing regular meetings to deepen friendship and cooperation between Jordan and Venezuela.
The two countries had previously signed a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation and an agreement exempting holders of diplomatic passports from entry visa requirements.
