Iraq Closes Baghdad International Airport Due to Urgent Technical Malfunction

The Iraqi Ministry of Transport announced on Wednesday the closure of Baghdad International Airport (BGW) following a sudden technical malfunction that necessitated immediate precautionary measures.اضافة اعلان

According to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), Ministry spokesperson Maytham al-Safi stated that the temporary closure was implemented as an "immediate precautionary step" in line with the highest safety standards adopted for the airport's operations.

Al-Safi added that specialized technical teams immediately began diagnostic and repair work. He confirmed that the airport is expected to reopen within the next few hours, as soon as maintenance is completed and final technical inspections are conducted.
