Yemen’s Houthi group said on Sunday afternoon that it had targeted Saudi Aramco’s facilities in Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia.
The group added that it had also targeted King Khalid International Airport, Aramco storage tanks, and the financial district in Riyadh.
The attacks come amid an ongoing escalation by the Houthis against Saudi Arabia since last July. The campaign has included missile and drone strikes targeting several sites, including civilian airports and energy production facilities.
Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia has led a military coalition in support of Yemen’s internationally recognized government against the Houthis, who are accused of receiving Iranian support and have controlled Sanaa and other provinces since September 2014.
