An electronic lottery was held on Sunday to select 9,000 young men born in 2008 to join Jordan’s 2027 National Service Programme. Those selected will be divided into three training cycles throughout the year, with 3,000 conscripts assigned to each cycle.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, the increase in the number of conscripts from 6,000 in the first intake to 9,000 in the second represents a 50% rise. The expansion follows the directives of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II to gradually broaden the programme, building on the success of the first intake. The move will allow more young Jordanians to take part in this national experience while maintaining training quality and operational efficiency.
The lottery was conducted in the presence of representatives from the relevant authorities and broadcast live on Jordan Television. The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship oversaw the electronic draw and prepared the necessary technical systems in coordination with the Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army and the Civil Status and Passports Department.
The technical process included developing an electronic algorithm to generate a random sample, using the ministry’s specialized technical teams. The system underwent testing, examination, and technical verification to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security, as well as the reliability of the results and the efficiency of the selection process.
The selection was based on a neutral statistical drawing method using computerized random selection in accordance with a scientific methodology that takes into account the population distribution across the Kingdom’s governorates. This approach is intended to ensure neutrality, fairness, and equal opportunities among those who meet the eligibility requirements.
To make results and information about National Service more accessible, the electronic National Service platform was reactivated following the completion of the lottery. This will allow conscripts and their families to check conscription status and review the required instructions and procedures.
Those selected and their families will also be notified through SMS messages, the Sanad application, and the electronic National Service platform, which provides access to conscription status updates and relevant instructions and procedures.
Young men concerned can check their conscription status through the electronic National Service platform at:

The relevant authorities urged young men born in 2008 to monitor notifications and text messages, verify their conscription status through approved official channels, and review the required instructions, dates, and procedures. They stressed that failure to check one’s conscription status does not exempt individuals from the resulting legal responsibilities.
The electronic lottery is part of broader efforts to use digital solutions and modern technologies to improve government procedures, enhance their efficiency, reliability, and transparency, simplify services for citizens, and ensure easier access to digital information and services.
