Iranian Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei said in a post on Saturday that US Vice President JD Vance had “conceded defeat,” while Secretary of State Marco Rubio was “preparing to leave,” following the results of the US midterm congressional elections and the developments that followed.

In a post on the social media platform X on Saturday, Rezaei said US President Donald Trump and his team had lost the elections.
“Vance has conceded defeat, Rubio is preparing to leave, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will be dismissed, and the commander of US Central Command has become a podcast host!” he wrote.
He continued: “Who should we deliver this message to in Washington? If you start a war, you will face a devastating response.”
Following the Republicans’ loss of their majorities in both the House of Representatives and the Senate in the November 3 elections, calls for changes involving senior members of the Trump administration have intensified. The war with Iran and its economic repercussions have been cited as factors behind the Republicans’ electoral defeat.
