The Board of Directors of the Land Transport Regulatory Commission, chaired by Minister of Transport Nidal Al-Qatamin, has approved the launch of three tenders to operate 35 new public transport routes using a fleet of 108 vehicles. The routes will be distributed across the governorates of Zarqa, Mafraq, and Jerash, as part of efforts to expand public transport services and improve their efficiency and quality.اضافة اعلان

According to the operational plan, 10 routes will be launched in Jerash using 27 small and medium-sized vehicles, while 7 routes will operate in Zarqa with 50 small passenger vehicles. In Mafraq, 18 routes will be introduced using 31 small and medium-sized vehicles. This distribution reflects operational flexibility tailored to demand patterns and the specific needs of each governorate.

The decision is based on field studies that identified the most in-demand routes and aimed to connect residential areas with key service hubs such as hospitals, schools, and main transit points. This approach ensures fair distribution, comprehensive coverage, and reduced service gaps between regions.

The Commission stated that this expansion comes in direct response to the growing demand for organized public transport services, contributing to the provision of reliable and regular transportation while encouraging public transport as a safe and efficient option.

The expansion is also expected to positively impact economic and social activity by facilitating mobility to workplaces and educational institutions, improving access to essential services, and enhancing overall quality of life and stability in the targeted governorates.
