Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi and British Foreign Secretary and Development Minister Ed Miliband on Sunday affirmed their continued efforts to strengthen the longstanding partnership between Jordan and the United Kingdom and deepen coordination to promote security and stability in the region.
During a phone call, Safadi and Miliband discussed ways to expand cooperation between the two friendly countries across various fields.
The two ministers also discussed regional developments and reaffirmed their support for efforts aimed at ending the dangerous escalation gripping the region.
Safadi and Miliband affirmed continued cooperation and coordination to support efforts to stabilize the situation in Gaza and ensure sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid reaches the Strip.
They also discussed the serious deterioration in the occupied West Bank. Safadi warned of the consequences of Israel’s continued unlawful escalatory measures, which are pushing the West Bank toward an explosion and fueling conflict in the region.
Safadi welcomed Britain’s positions in support of the two-state solution as a means of achieving a just and comprehensive peace that guarantees security and stability for all parties.
He also congratulated Miliband on assuming his post as Britain’s foreign secretary.
The two ministers affirmed their intention to work toward further developing bilateral cooperation and promoting security and stability in the region.
