The cases included 44 involving trafficking or promotion of the drug and 98 involving use, the spokesperson said. Authorities arrested 72 dealers and promoters in the trafficking cases and 150 users in the remaining cases, seizing quantities of the drug from those detained.
The campaign will continue without leniency until it meets its goals of raising public awareness and prosecuting anyone involved with the substance, the spokesperson said, describing crystal meth as a drug that kills its users or drives them to commit serious crimes that endanger public safety.
The spokesperson renewed a call for the public to report any information related to the drug through the emergency number 911, saying all reports would be handled confidentially and taken seriously.
