Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Obaidallah Al-Maaytah has taken part in the 2026 Global Public Security Cooperation Forum in China, where he met senior Chinese officials to discuss expanding security and police cooperation between the two countries, according to Al-Ghad, citing the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The forum, held under the theme "Uniting to Strengthen Public Security Governance and Achieve Stability in a Turbulent World," brought together ministers, heads of security and police agencies, and experts from a range of countries. On the sidelines of the forum, Maaytah met Chinese Executive Vice Minister of Public Security Qi Yanjun. The two sides reviewed bilateral relations between Jordan and China and discussed ways to raise the level of security and police cooperation, including a broader exchange of expertise and best practices aimed at improving the readiness of security agencies and their capacity to respond to shared threats.
Maaytah stressed the need for stronger partnerships among law enforcement agencies, arguing that today's security challenges are fast-moving, interconnected, and cross-border in nature. He added that security response tools must be developed to keep pace with those challenges.
The PSD director also toured the exhibition of security equipment and technology held alongside the forum, where he was briefed on systems and innovations used in policing and their role in improving performance, response times, and operational readiness.
His participation reflects the PSD's stated commitment to maintaining a presence at international security events and to building partnerships and exchanging expertise with counterpart agencies, according to Petra.
