The US military said Saturday that it had “redirected” 100 commercial vessels over the past two months as part of a blockade it is imposing on Iranian ports.

In an Arabic-language statement posted on X, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said its forces had “redirected 100 commercial vessels over the past 60 days, since the United States resumed imposing the Iron Wall blockade on Iran.”
“No ship has been able to pass through the blockade area without obtaining authorization from US forces,” the statement added. “US service members remain fully focused on carrying out this mission.”
Iran closed the strategic Strait of Hormuz after the United States and Israel launched attacks on Tehran in late February.
In response, the United States sought to prevent ships from entering or leaving Iranian ports in an effort to cut off revenue to Tehran.
