Temporary Closure of the Karak–Tafilah Road Due to Heavy Rainfall and Landslides

The Traffic Department announced on Tuesday morning the temporary closure of the road linking Karak and Tafilah in both directions, due to heavy rainfall in the area and the onset of landslides along the road.

The department confirmed that traffic has been diverted to the Desert Highway as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety. Drivers were urged to exercise caution, follow the instructions of security personnel, and avoid using the affected road until further notice.

The Traffic Department also noted that it is closely monitoring the situation and coordinating with the relevant authorities to remove the landslides and ensure the resumption of traffic as soon as possible.
