AMMAN — The
State Security Prosecutor arrested a former official and three other persons in
possession of 650,000 captagon pills in the southern Badia, Al-Ghad News
reported.

It said search continues
for a businessman in the city of Mafraq, who was seized with 100,000 narcotic
pills in his possession.
According to official
sources, people involved with the businessman were captured, while the latter
remains a fugitive.
The prosecutor's office
arraigned the defendants in both cases of promoting drug trafficking and exporting.
The Anti-Narcotics Department
continues to implement a security crackdown on drug smuggling and promotion in
various governorates of the Kingdom, which has led to a rise in prices due to their
scarcity, especially as drug smuggling operations to Jordan are halted.
