According to a ministry statement, the meeting, held at the Ministry of Transport, aimed to align the project's requirements with the technical and vocational education and training system, and to prepare and qualify advanced technicians in railway systems, signalling and communications, electrical systems and automation, operations and maintenance, inspection, and commissioning.

The meeting also discussed identifying current and future occupational and skills requirements in line with the project's various phases, assessing their availability in the local labour market, and identifying priority skills gaps.

Discussions further covered the development of training and skills enhancement pathways, including diploma programmes, professional certifications, and vocational apprenticeships tailored to the project's actual needs.

Qatamin stressed the importance of linking training and qualification programmes to the needs of major national projects, thereby creating more employment opportunities for Jordanians and supporting their integration into technical and specialised roles.

He also highlighted the importance of establishing a sustainable framework for developing the skills required for the project's operational and maintenance phases, ensuring long-term benefits from the project.
