Safadi and Budrys reaffirmed the depth of the friendship between the two countries and their shared commitment to building on and developing ties in the fields of economic cooperation, investment, defense, education, tourism, cybersecurity, and other areas, in a manner that serves mutual interests and enhances bilateral collaboration.

The two ministers agreed to hold the first round of political consultations between the two countries in the coming months to establish a roadmap identifying priority areas for cooperation and practical steps to deepen and expand bilateral ties.

They also discussed enhancing cooperation within international organizations and the European Union.

During his visit to Lithuania—the first ever by a Jordanian foreign minister—Safadi highlighted the importance of the Jordan-European Investment Conference, which the Kingdom will host later this year, describing it as an important opportunity to strengthen economic cooperation between Jordan and the European Union, and inviting Lithuanian investors and business leaders to participate and explore investment opportunities in Jordan.

The ministers also reviewed regional developments and the repercussions of the serious escalation in the region, as well as efforts aimed at ending the crisis and restoring security and stability.

Safadi briefed Budrys on the serious deterioration in the occupied West Bank resulting from what he described as illegal Israeli measures that undermine the two-state solution, which Lithuania supports as the path to peace. He stressed the need for coordinated efforts to halt these actions in defense of a just peace and international law.

The two ministers also discussed the situation in Gaza, emphasizing the need to preserve stability and remove Israeli obstacles to the immediate and full delivery of humanitarian aid.

Safadi expressed appreciation for Lithuania’s support for the two-state solution and for efforts aimed at achieving regional stability.

Separately, Safadi met with Lithuanian Deputy Speaker of Parliament Viktoria Čmilytė-Nielsen at the Lithuanian Parliament, where they discussed mechanisms for enhancing cooperation in several vital sectors of mutual interest, as well as a number of shared issues.
