Hassan emphasized that this scale of investment will positively impact the economy and create employment opportunities. He added that most of these projects will include Jordanian investment alongside full national–foreign partnerships, with opportunities for public shareholding in some projects, allowing citizens to become stakeholders.
He highlighted several key strategic projects currently being implemented, including the Aqaba Port railway project, the National Water Carrier project, and the Risha gas pipeline project, which is expected to begin by the end of this year. Additional initiatives include energy sector projects, the International Stadium, the International Exhibition Center, and an entertainment city as part of the Amra City project. These developments are expected to benefit all governorates and stimulate multiple sectors.
Regarding regional challenges and their economic impact, the Prime Minister noted that the government has worked to maintain normal economic activity despite ongoing regional pressures, while continuing on a positive trajectory. He pointed to recent growth figures of around 3%, expressing hopes to increase them further.
Hassan stressed that the government’s focus remains on strengthening the domestic situation, overcoming challenges, and sustaining economic development despite difficult regional conditions.
On the broader regional situation, he affirmed that the government is implementing measures to enhance the resilience of the national economy, curb inflation, and open new avenues for growth in the coming phase. He also noted that Aqaba Port has been operating normally, and that trade cooperation with Syria has reached record levels. The government, he added, is working to mitigate the impact of rising global prices on citizens.
