Minister of Transport Dr. Nidal Al-Qatamin inspected the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project linking Amman and Zarqa on Saturday evening. He boarded one of the buses in both directions to directly assess the quality of services provided to citizens.

Al-Qatamin emphasized that the purpose of the visit was to observe service conditions firsthand, listen to citizens’ feedback, and identify areas for improvement to meet public expectations for efficient, safe, and comfortable intercity transportation.
During the tour, accompanied by Eng. Riyad Al-Kharabsheh, Director General of the Land Transport Regulatory Commission, the Minister directed the expansion of electronic payment services and the simplification of their use to serve all segments of society. He also instructed enhancing passenger comfort inside the buses, ensuring continuous cleanliness and quality facilities, and boosting safety measures through improved monitoring systems and a better on-board environment.
The Minister noted that transport and logistics projects continue to progress within the targets of the Economic Modernization Vision, which aims to improve citizens’ quality of life. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to developing the public transport system between governorates to the highest standards of efficiency, quality, and safety.
Al-Qatamin also highlighted the success of the first phase of the intercity transport project, which provided services comparable to those of the BRT. He confirmed that the second phase will include additional governorates as part of the Ministry’s plan to expand coverage, achieve effective interconnectivity, reduce travel time, and strengthen reliance on public transportation.
