The Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Water Authority announced that its technical and engineering teams, in cooperation with the operator of the Disi water system “Diwaco,” have succeeded on Monday, August 18, 2025, after strenuous efforts and technical attempts since the moment of the attack, in achieving a significant breakthrough by temporarily repairing the damage caused to one of the air vents of the Disi transmission line in the Al-Jafr area. Water pumping has resumed directly to areas in Amman and parts of Russeifa.

The Ministry confirmed that conditions will return to normal automatically and that the impact on areas mentioned in the previous suspension notice will be partial. The Ministry / Water Authority and the Jordan Water Company “Miyahuna” are working to address all resulting disruptions and ensure water delivery to residents to the maximum of their capabilities.
The Ministry / Water Authority clarified that its technical teams and Diwaco have been working since yesterday to find a rapid solution. The temporary repair was completed a short while ago, pending the routine preventive maintenance of the Disi system scheduled for the end of this year. Water supply will gradually resume in the affected areas, with minor disruptions possible, which the teams are striving to minimize. The Ministry expressed gratitude to all citizens for their understanding under these circumstances beyond its control.
The Ministry / Water Authority called on all loyal, conscientious, and patriotic citizens to safeguard the Disi water system, which provides approximately 300,000 cubic meters of water daily and serves millions of residents for drinking purposes across wide areas of the Kingdom. It condemned those who deliberately sabotage this vital resource, stressing that such acts violate national rights and responsibilities. The Ministry affirmed that it will continue its efforts with all state institutions to fulfill its commitments and ensure the water needs of citizens and residents, and will take all measures necessary to uphold national dignity and the rule of law against anyone attempting such acts, which constitute a serious crime that cannot be tolerated.
Finally, the Ministry praised the citizens for their ongoing cooperation, responsibility, and national awareness, urging them to remain vigilant, support the law, and protect national resources. It confirmed that its teams and Water Authority staff will continue working to apprehend those responsible and provide the best services possible to residents.
