On Monday, the Ministry of Water and Irrigation—in partnership with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) and with technical support from the U.S. government—launched the single-window platform for the National Water Carrier Project. This step marks the official digital integration between the platform and ASEZA's digital government services, streamlining licensing and permitting procedures to accelerate project implementation.

The platform provides a unified digital portal to manage licensing and permit applications for the project. It enables online submission, processing, and tracking, thereby strengthening cross-governmental coordination, boosting execution efficiency, and cutting administrative procedures. This aligns with the government's commitment under the National Water Carrier Project agreement to establish a unified mechanism for managing licensing and permitting processes.
In its initial phase, the platform is linked with ASEZA’s digital government services, offering 22 government services. This number will rise to 61 services once integration is fully completed with other participating government entities. These include the Greater Amman Municipality, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Labor, the Ministry of Local Administration, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Finance, the Customs Department, and the Income and Sales Tax Department.
Minister of Water and Irrigation Raed Abu El-Saud emphasized that the launch of the single-window platform represents a major milestone in executing one of the Kingdom’s largest strategic projects. He noted that it reflects the government’s commitment to simplifying procedures and improving public service efficiency through digital transformation and institutional integration.
He added that the platform will help expedite licensing and permit approvals, enhance transparency, and standardize workflows across various government agencies, supporting project execution in accordance with the target timeline under the Economic Modernization Vision and the Strategic Plan for the Water Sector.
Abu El-Saud highlighted that the National Water Carrier Project serves as a cornerstone for enhancing Jordan's water security. He affirmed that the ministry will continue working with all partners and government entities to expand digital integration and fully activate the platform's services, aiming to achieve the highest levels of speed and efficiency in processing transactions.
Furthermore, Abu El-Saud praised ASEZA's significant support in completing the platform, as well as the technical assistance provided by the U.S. government. He stressed that this cooperation strengthens national institutional capabilities and provides a more efficient regulatory environment for implementing strategic projects.
For his part, Minister of Youth Raed Al-Adwan stressed that the National Water Carrier Project embodies the state's vision of investing in strategic projects that serve future generations. He noted that the ongoing digital transformation within government institutions is a main pillar of administrative modernization, enhancing operational efficiency and service quality.
He added that the achievements realized through the single-window platform reflect the success of inter-agency integration, underscoring the importance of investing in digital transformation, building national competencies, and providing opportunities for youth to boost government performance and accelerate priority national projects in line with the Economic Modernization Vision.
Shadi Ramzi Al-Majali, Chief Commissioner of ASEZA, stated that the launch of the single-window platform serves as an advanced model of inter-agency cooperation. He noted that it reflects the state's direction toward building an integrated digital government ecosystem that supports major national projects and provides a flexible, efficient regulatory environment for investors and partners.
Al-Majali added that ASEZA views the National Water Carrier Project as one of the most critical strategic initiatives directly linked to enhancing water security and supporting economic development. He confirmed that the Authority mobilized its technical and administrative resources to complete the platform's digital integration, ensuring faster licensing processes and higher service quality.
Finally, Al-Majali highlighted that the technical support provided by the U.S. government reflects the deep-rooted partnership with the Kingdom in implementing strategic projects. He added that it contributes to knowledge transfer, institutional capacity building, and the application of global best practices in digital transformation—ultimately enabling national institutions to manage mega-projects according to the highest standards of governance and transparency.
