Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday ordered a review of security procedures for international flights bound for Israel, following an incident this week in which a co-pilot allegedly assaulted the captain of a Flydubai flight traveling from Dubai to Tel Aviv.
The Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement that Netanyahu had instructed National Security Council chief Shmuel Ben-Ezra to appoint an auditor to conduct a comprehensive review of all security aspects related to foreign civil aviation operating flights to Israel.
