The pro-government Giants Brigades said some of their first units had arrived in the Bab al-Mandab area.

Yemeni forces said they had carried out 1,122 operations targeting Houthi positions as part of the “Battle for Liberation” campaign.

The operations targeted Houthi positions along several fronts and battlefields in Saada, Al Jawf, Taiz and Yemen’s western coast, according to the forces.

Colonel Majed Al-Nazili, spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, announced on Sunday the launch of the “Battle for Liberation” to complete the restoration of state institutions, end the Houthi insurgency and alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.

Al-Nazili said the campaign aims to retake territory held by the Houthi group, restore national sovereignty and end what he described as the manifestations of the Houthi takeover.

He stressed that the armed forces were committed to protecting civilians and preventing harm to them across all affected areas and provinces.

The campaign also seeks to return Yemen to its Arab sphere and strategic regional position, he said, emphasizing the right of the state and its citizens to reclaim their rights and live with dignity.
