His Majesty King Abdullah II congratulated Professor Omar Yaghi on winning the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
The King described Yaghi’s achievement as a “new source of pride added to the distinguished record of Jordanians in various fields around the world.”

In a message posted on X, His Majesty wrote:
"We take pride in and honor the Jordanian scientist, Professor Omar Yaghi, and we congratulate him and Jordan on his winning of the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. This achievement adds new prestige to the distinguished record of Jordanians globally and proves that Jordanians can make a difference wherever they are."
Omar Yaghi received the Nobel Prize alongside Japanese scientist Susumu Kitagawa and British-born Richard Robson “for their development of metal-organic frameworks,” according to the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, which announced the 2025 laureates on its X page.
