His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, held talks at Basman Al-Zaher Palace.
His Majesty King Abdullah II received Sheikh Tamim upon his arrival in Amman on Wednesday for an official visit to the Kingdom.
An official reception ceremony was held for the Emir of Qatar at Marka Airport.
His Highness was accompanied by a delegation that included Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khulaifi, Chief of the Amiri Diwan; Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Finance; Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al Thani, Minister of Trade and Industry; along with several senior officials.
A number of senior civil and military officials, as well as members of both embassies, were present to welcome the Emir.
Royal Jordanian Air Force fighter jets escorted Sheikh Tamim’s plane as it entered Jordanian airspace, in a gesture of welcome.
Upon the arrival of the Emir’s motorcade at the Royal Hashemite Court, surrounded by the traditional red procession reserved for official occasions and national celebrations, the convoy was accompanied by a group of Royal Guard cavalrymen in honor of the distinguished guest.
The streets of Amman were decorated with Jordanian and Qatari flags, and banners welcoming Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
