Jordan records 6,289 new COVID-19 cases, positivity rate stands at 17.40%

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 6,289 new COVID-19 cases and 15 new deaths on Thursday, bringing the total death toll to 13,043 and the total number of cases to 1,123,686.اضافة اعلان

The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 3,500 cases, while Zarqa recorded 794 cases. Irbid registered 686 cases, Balqa 460 cases, Karak recorded 136 cases, Jerash recorded 141 cases, and Tafileh recorded 15 cases. Madaba registered 142 cases, Aqaba 51, Ramtha 101, and Ajloun 87.

The ministry said in a statement that 71 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 111 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 40,031 according to the ministry. Out of 36,143 COVID-19 tests conducted Thursday, 17.40 percent of them came back positive.
