Jordan records 2,288 new COVID-19 cases, positivity rate stands at 5.57%

AMMAN — Jordan recorded 2,288 new COVID-19 cases and 26 new deaths on Wednesday, bringing the total death toll to 12,791 and the total number of cases to 1,071,837.اضافة اعلان

The Ministry of Health said that Amman recorded 1,282 cases, while Zarqa recorded 218 cases. Irbid registered 326 cases, Balqa 160 cases, Karak recorded 57 cases, Jerash recorded 32 cases, and Tafileh recorded 13 cases. Madaba registered 41 cases, Aqaba 35, Ramtha 14, and Ajloun 28.

The ministry said in a statement that 97 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 86 new patients were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 26,123 according to the ministry. Out of 41,048 COVID-19 tests conducted Wednesday, 5.57percent of them came back positive.
