Jordan records 1,552 new COVID-19 cases

AMMAN — The number of COVID-19 deaths recorded on Thursday reached 47, according to The Ministry of Health, while a total of 1,552 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Thursday, bringing the death toll to 8,801 and the caseload to 709,817.اضافة اعلان

Breaking down Thursday’s tally, the ministry said:

474 in Amman
342 in Irbid
167 in Zarqa
110 in Mafraq
97 in Balqa
72 in Karak
41 in Aqaba
70 in Jerash
42 in Ajloun
23 in Madaba
41 in Ma'an
73 in Tafilah

The ministry added in a statement that some 1,455 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 140 others were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 20,109, according to the ministry’s statement.

Around 9.07 percent of the 17,112 COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive.
