Jordan records 1,731 new COVID-19 cases

AMMAN — The number of COVID-19 deaths recorded on Sunday reached 52, according to The Ministry of Health, while a total of 1,731 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Sunday, bringing the death toll to 8,615 and the caseload to 702,154.اضافة اعلان

Breaking down Sunday’s tally, the ministry said:

401 in Amman
223 in Irbid
311 in Zarqa
210 in Mafraq
59 in Balqa
134 in Karak
50 in Aqaba
71 in Jerash
59 in Ajloun
69 in Madaba
41 in Ma'an
103 in Tafilah

The ministry added in a statement that some 3,565 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 212 others were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 25,202, according to the ministry’s statement.

Around 10.38 percent of the 16,681 COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive.
