Jordan records 1,259 new COVID-19 cases

AMMAN — The number of COVID-19 deaths recorded on Saturday reached 49, according to The Ministry of Health, while a total of 1,259 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Saturday, bringing the death toll to 8,563 and the caseload to 700,423.اضافة اعلان

Breaking down Saturday’s tally, the ministry said:

525 in Amman
328 in Irbid
41 in Zarqa
77 in Mafraq
52 in Balqa
51 in Karak
23 in Aqaba
42 in Jerash
13 in Ajloun
46 in Madaba
22 in Ma'an
39 in Tafilah

The ministry added in a statement that some 3,349 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 195 others were admitted.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 27,088, according to the ministry’s statement.

Around 10.63 percent of the 11,848 COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive.
