Jordan records 1,677 new COVID-19 cases

AMMAN — The number of COVID-19 deaths recorded on Friday reached 40, according to The Ministry of Health, while a total of 1,677 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Friday, bringing the death toll to 8,514 and the caseload to 699,164. Breaking down Friday’s tally, the ministry said: 619 in Amman 284 in Irbid 175 in Zarqa 148 in Mafraq 97 in Balqa 81 in Karak 77 in Aqaba 69 in Jerash 59 in Ajloun 37 in Madaba 34 in Ma'an 33 in Tafilah The ministry added in a statement that some 3,145 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 195 others were admitted. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 29,218, according to the ministry’s statement. Around  9.97 percent of the 16,827 COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive. The ministry added in a statement that some 3,145 hospitalized COVID-19 patients had recovered and were discharged from hospitals, while 195 others were admitted.
