Iraqi government spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah Al-Numan, said Thursday that September 30 is the final deadline for the end of the international coalition’s mission in Iraq.

He stressed that Baghdad will not allow any weapons to remain outside state control or permit Iraqi territory to be used to target other countries, according to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Al-Numan said efforts to regulate weapons are “moving forward” and that talks with faction leaders are ongoing. He added that the Commander-in-Chief’s priority is to build an Iraq free of drugs.
He also said air defense systems are a top priority for the Commander-in-Chief, noting that systems from South Korea, Türkiye and the United States are expected to arrive soon.
Al-Numan stressed that authorities will take firm action against anyone spreading rumors or using sectarian rhetoric.
